PIONEERS WIN 8-1 AT BELMONT ABBEY IN MEN'S TENNIS

 

                BELMONT, N.C. --- Roberto Robles recorded a pair of wins as the Tusculum College men's tennis team defeated host Belmont Abbey College 8-1 Friday afternoon.

 

                Robles posted a 6-3, 6-3 win over Belmont Abbey's Aaron Miller at No. 1 singles.  Robles and No. 2 doubles teammate Jesse Puckerin recorded an 8-1 pro set win over Rodolfo Cardoso and Jimmie Whitman.

 

                Puckerin, Sergio Espinosa, Carlos Garcia and Michael Hallford also accounted for singles wins on the afternoon.

 

                Tusculum (3-0) returns home next Friday when it host USC Aiken at the Nichols Tennis Complex for a 3:30 p.m. match.
