TUSCULUM
MENS TENNIS DEFEATS UVA-WISE 9-0
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The No. 35 Tusculum mens tennis team swept
the three doubles points en route to a 9-0 victory over visiting Virginia-Wise
Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
Carlos Garcia and Sergio
Espinosa outlasted the UVa-Wise pair of Henning Kuich
and Derick Wood at No. 1 doubles, 8-6 in pro
sets.
Nicolas Bigler outlasted Kuich at No. 1 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (ret.) while Espinosa
won 6-1, 6-0 over Wood at the No. 2 flight.
Garcia won his 21st straight singles match with a 6-0, 6-0
win over Robert Bareford,
while Henrique Rodrigues,
Hunter Beal and Leo Guaycurus also accounted for singles
victories.
Tusculum (4-0) will host Brevard
on Sunday for a 2 p.m. non-conference tilt.
