NO. 15 FRANCIS MARION MEN DEFEAT NO. 35 TUSCULUM 9-0

 

FLORENCE, S.C. --- The No. 15 Francis Marion University men's tennis team posted its fifth straight win over a nationally ranked opponent as the Patriots (6-1) blanked No. 35 Tusculum College 9-0 Thursday afternoon.

 

                FMU swept doubles with a three tightly contested matches, including the No. 1 pair of Kevin Taylor and David Budler who defeated the Tusculum duo of Antonio Oliver and Leo Guaycurus 8-5 in pro sets.

 

                Taylor, who is ranked No. 4 in NCAA Division II, posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over Pedro Galavis at No. 1 singles.  FMU's Chatwinder Singh, ranked No. 17 in the country won at No. 3 singles 6-3, 6-0 over TC's Sergio Espinosa.
