NO. 23 ANDERSON WINS 6-3 OVER NO. 36 TUSCULUM

 

                ANDERSON, S.C. --- The No. 23 Anderson University men's tennis team rallied from a 2-1 deficit in doubles to win five of the six singles matches to post a 6-3 win over No. 36 Tusculum College Friday afternoon in non-conference action.

 

                The Pioneers captured points at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles including a 9-8 pro set win by Pedro Galavis and Julien Jacob in the third flight.  The No. 1 pairing of Carlos Garcia and Sergio Espinosa won 8-2 in their match.

 

                But in singles it was Anderson who dominated winning all but the No. 4 singles match as TC's Garcia won 6-3, 6-1 over Raul Luna.

 

                Tusculum is back in action on Wednesday when it opens South Atlantic Conference play at Carson-Newman College for a 3 p.m. match.
