TUSCULUM MEN'S TENNIS ROLLS TO 8-1 SAC WIN OVER LIONS

 

                MARS HILL, N.C. --- The No. 39 Tusculum College men's tennis team won its fourth straight match as the Pioneers defeated Mars Hill College 8-1 Wednesday in South Atlantic Conference action.

 

                With the victory, the Pioneers improve to 10-2 overall and 4-0 in the league.

 

                Tusculum swept all three doubles points, including the No. 2 flight as Henrique Rodrigues and SAC Player of the Week Leo Guaycurus outlasted Oscar Gomez and Bobby Roddy 9-7 in pro sets.

 

                In singles play, Rodrigues, Guaycurus, Sergio Espinosa, Carlos Garcia and Hunter Beal each won their respective matches.

 

                Tusculum returns home on Thursday to host No. 24 Anderson University at the Nichols Tennis Complex beginning at 4 p.m.
