TUSCULUM MEN’S TENNIS DEFEATS NEWBERRY 7-2

 

                GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The No. 39 Tusculum College tennis team remained undefeated in South Atlantic Conference play as the Pioneers defeated Newberry College 7-2 Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.

 

                Tusculum (12-3, 6-0 SAC) will play No. 27 Presbyterian College on Sunday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m.  Newberry falls to 4-8 overall and 2-3 in league play.

 

                Tusculum swept all three doubles matches, including an 8-2 win by the No. 1 duo of Carlos Garcia and Sergio Espinosa.

 

                TC also got singles points by Espinosa, Garcia, Nic Bigler and Hunter Beal.  Newberry earned its two points by Felipe Sobrinho and Lucas Mattos in singles competition.
