TUSCULUM'S CARLOS GARCIA NAMED SAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Carlos Garcia of Tusculum College has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week announced league officials Tuesday.

Garcia, a junior from Caracas, Venezuela, went 2-0 in singles and doubles play last week as the No. 39 Pioneers recorded a pair of non-conference wins last week over Lincoln Memorial and Virginia Intermont.

In TC's 8-1 home win over LMU, Garcia posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Adras Pauko at No. 3 singles. He followed three days later with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Jon Jonsson of Virginia Intermont. The Pioneers won 8-1, their first-ever win over the Cobras.

The SAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's eight sports information directors.
