ESPINOSA, GARCIA NAMED TO ALL-SAC TENNIS TEAM

                ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College juniors Sergio Espinosa and Carlos Garcia have been named to the 2007 All-South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Team announced league officials Tuesday.  Espinosa was named to the All-Conference First Team, while Garcia garnered All-SAC Second Team honors.

 

                Espinosa, a three-time All-SAC First Team selection, has posted a 13-5 singles record this year, including 5-1 in conference play.  He is currently the 15th-ranked singles player in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region.  In 2005, Espinosa (Caracas, Venezuela) was the SAC Freshman of the Year.

 

                Garcia (Caracas, Venezuela) also garners his third All-Conference honor as a Pioneer.  He has been perfect in singles play this season so far posting an 18-0 record.

 

                Espinosa and Garcia comprise Tusculum's No. 1 doubles team as the duo has a 15-4 record, including 5-1 in conference matches.

 

                Tusculum (14-5), ranked No. 39 in NCAA II and seeded second in this year's Food Lion SAC Tournament, will face No. 3 seed Newberry College on Friday in a semifinal match beginning at 9 a.m. on the campus of Mars Hill College.
