PRESBYTERIAN WINS SAC TOURNAMENT TITLE, BLUE HOSE BEAT TUSCULUM 5-0

MARS HILL, N.C. --- Top-seeded Presbyterian College defeated No 2 seed Tusculum College, 5-0 to win the 2007 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament. The event was played at the Hart Tennis Complex on the campus of Mars Hill College.

PC improved to 17-5 on the season while the Pioneers fell to 15-6 on the season. Tusculum now awaits word of a potential at-large bid to next month's NCAA Division II Tournament.

PC swept doubles play after first team All-SAC pick Aaron Chapman (Mount Pleasant, Australia) and Matthew Martin (Surrey, British Columbia, Canada) defeated All-SAC member Carlos Garcia (Caracas, Venezuela) and Sergio Espinosa (Caracas, Venezuela), 8-5.

Zach Glankler (Highland Village, Texas) and Andrew Lee (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) beat Leo Guaycurus (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and Henrique Rodrigues (Salvador-Bahia, Brazil), 8-6, before Patrick Fediuk (Kimberly, British Columbia, Canada) and Michael Nicol (Spartanburg, S.C.) completed the doubles sweep with a 9-7 victory over Julien Jacob (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) and Nicolas Bigler (Chernex, Switzerland).

Nicol and Lee won their singles matches to seal the win. Nicol defeated Henrique Rodrigues (Salvador-Bahia, Brazil) in straight sets (6-1, 6-3) and then Lee beat Hunter Beal (Heiskell, Tenn.) 6-3, 6-1.
