EAGLES ADVANCE TO SAC FINALS
WITH 5-1 WIN OVER TUSCULUM

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Carson-Newman Eagles advanced to the finals of the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament with a 5-1 win over Tusculum Friday afternoon.

The match between the Eagles and Pioneers, which was moved to the Knoxville Racquet Club due to inclement weather, saw the Eagles win two of three doubles matches and the top three singles matches. The win by C-N was the first over the Pioneers in four seasons.

Ricardo Gutierrez and Travis Bauguess won number two doubles and Giuseppe Schwartz and Preston Sneed was victorious at number three doubles. Gutierrez and Schwarz won at one and three singles, respectively, and Rafael Soares won the third and deciding set at number two singles.

The Eagles face Presbyterian in the finals.
