TUSCULUM RANKED NO. 34 IN ITA MEN’S TENNIS POLL

 

                SKILLMAN, N.J. --- The Tusculum College men’s tennis team has moved up one spot and is ranked No. 34 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Division II Top 40 Poll.  The Pioneers (20-1) have won their last 15 matches heading into Thursday’s NCAA II Southeast Region match-up with No. 11 Rollins.

 

                Tusculum 20-wins are the most in school history as the Pioneers claimed the South Atlantic Conference Championship and the Food Lion SAC Tournament title.

 

                Armstrong Atlantic State is the No. 1 team in the land, followed by Valdosta State, West Florida, Drury, Barry, Lynn, Cameron, Ouachita Baptist, Hawaii Pacific and Florida Southern to round out the top 10.  Rollins is 11th, followed by Concordia, Lander, Georgia College & State, Incarnate Word, Anderson, Northwood, UC San Diego, Columbus State, Francis Marion, Abilene Christian, St. Edward’s, Augusta State, Southwest Baptist, USC Aiken, Northwest Missouri State, Washburn, BYU Hawaii, Midwestern State, North Alabama, Delta State, Hawaii Hilo, Sonoma State, Tusculum, Limestone, Mount Olive, Flagler, East Central, West Virginia Wesleyan, Palm Beach Atlantic and Mars Hill.

 

                Tusculum’s match with Rollins is being played on the campus of Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla.  Tusculum is making their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance and sixth in the last eight years.
