MILHORN COMMIT TO TUSCULUM
MEN’S TENNIS
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. ---- Steven Laub and Jason Milhorn have committed to attend Tusculum College
and play tennis for the Pioneers announced TC men’s coach Tommy Arnett.
Laub, a native of Salem, Va., has played at
the No. 1 position at Salem
High School for the last
three years. He earned All-River Ridge
District First Team honors and was an All-Region III
Second Team selection. The fouyr-year
letterman has been named Athlete of the Week by the Salem
Times and was the recipient of the Most Improved Player Award.
“Virginia
tennis always has good junior tennis and we feel fortunate that he has chosen Tusculum College,” said Arnett.
Milhorn, a product of Bluff City, Tenn., played
at No. 1 singles for Sullivan
East High
School where he was a four-year letterman in
tennis and football. He is a member of
Who’s Who (2003-07) and the National Society of High School Scholars. He earned the 2007 NSHSS Academic Achievement
Award and is an AIMS Scholar.
“Jason is excited about being a
college tennis player and his motivation will be an asset for our team,” added
Arnett.
Tusculum posted a 15-7 record this past
season, while finishing second in the South Atlantic Conference and advanced to
the final of the Food Lion SAC Tournament.
TC also made its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last six years.
Tusculum
College, located in Greeneville,
Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian
Church, USA and is a NCAA
Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of nine
colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South
Carolina.
