TUSCULUM MEN WIN 8-1 OVER GOLDEN BULLS
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College's Roberto Robles won both of his matches to lead the Pioneer men's tennis team to an 8-1 win over Johnson C. Smith University Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
Robles and No. 1 doubles teammate Jesse Puckerin (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) won 8-3 in pro sets over JCSU's Tim Hunter and Michael White. Carlos Garcia (Caracas, Venezuela) and Michael Hallford (Baton Rouge, La.) won their doubles match against Romar Douglas (St. George, Bermuda) and Justin Stuckey (Cincinnati, Ohio) 8-5.
The Golden Bulls (1-3) recorded their only point of the day as Jonathan Nettles (Detroit, Mich.) and Frento Burton (Charlotte, N.C.) won 8-3 over Miguel Lares (Caracas, Venezuela) and Alex Masi (Marietta, Ga.).
The Pioneers (1-0) swept all the singles matches, including Garcia's 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (11-9) win over Stuckey at No. 3 singles.
