TUSCULUM WOMEN’S TENNIS BLANKS UVA-WISE, 9-0

 

                GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College women’s tennis team shutout the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, 9-0 Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.  With the victory the Pioneers remain undefeated on the season at 5-0.

 

                Tusculum swept the three doubles matches, including an 8-6 win by Jessi Smith and Katelyn Doss at the top flight.  Jennifer Sparks, Bronwyn Hartley, Amanda Pike, Doss, Blake Thompson and Heidi von der Lage also recorded singles wins on the afternoon, all coming in straight sets.

 

                Tusculum will host Brevard College on Sunday at 2 p.m. in a non-conference contest.
