TUSCULUM WOMEN WIN 8-1 AT LENOIR-RHYNE

 

Coach Tommy ArnettHICKORY, N.C. --- The Tusculum women’s tennis team was victorious in its South Atlantic Conference opener as the Pioneers defeated host Lenoir-Rhyne 8-1 Tuesday afternoon.

 

The Pioneers (9-1, 1-0 SAC) swept all three doubles points and won five of the six singles matches as TC recorded its third consecutive victory.

 

The victory was also the 200th combined win for Tusculum head coach Tommy Arnett.  In his seven seasons in Greeneville, Arnett has guided the women’s program to 108 wins, while the men’s squad has accounted for 93 wins, including a 9-0 victory over the L-R men’s team today.

 

The Pioneers are back in action on Thursday when they host fifth-ranked California (Pa.) at the Nichols Tennis Complex beginning at 11 a.m.
