TUSCULUM WOMEN'S TENNIS WINS AT MILLIGAN, 8-1

 

                MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College women's tennis team recorded its third consecutive win by defeating host Milligan College 8-1 Sunday afternoon.  With the victory, the Pioneers improve to 7-5 on the season.

 

                Tusculum captured the three doubles points, including an 8-0 win at the No. 2 flight by Bronwyn Hartley and Amanda Pike.  The No. 1 pair of Claudia Bolivar and Maria Nevarez also posted an 8-1 win over Cassie Lomison and Krissi Denton.

 

                Lamisson posted the only point for the Lady Buffs as she claimed a 6-4, 6-4 decision at No. 1 singles.

 

                Tusculum won five of the six singles points, including wins by Danae Valderrama, Jennifer Sparks, Hartley, Pike and Nevarez.

 

                The Pioneers open South Atlantic Conference play on Wednesday with a match at arch-rival Carson-Newman College.
