TUSCULUM WOMEN'S TENNIS DOWNS LEES-McRAE 7-2

 

                BANNER ELK, N.C. --- The Tusculum College women's team rallied from a 2-1 deficit and swept singles play en route to a 7-2 road win at Lees-McRae College Thursday afternoon.

 

                The Pioneers (12-4) fell at No. 1 and No .3 doubles, but got an 8-0 win at the second flight by Danae Valderrama and Samantha Cantu.

 

                Valderrama and Cantu recorded singles wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles in straight sets.  Jennifer Sparks, Bronwyn Hartley, Amanda Pike and Heidi von der Lage also accounted for straight set victories for the Pioneers.

 

                Tusculum returns to action on Friday when they host No. 27 Presbyterian College at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
