PIONEERS ADVANCE IN FOOD LION SAC WOMEN’S TENNIS TOURNAMENT

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College’s Amanda Pike accounted for a pair of points as the second-seeded Pioneers posted a 5-0 victory over No. 7 Lenoir-Rhyne College in a quarterfinal match of the 2008 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women’s Tennis Tournament, held Tuesday at the Nichols Tennis Complex.

Tusculum (18-3), ranked No. 37 in NCAA Division II, advances Friday’s semifinal match against No. 6 seed Newberry College.  That contest will be held at the Rock Hill Tennis Center in Rock Hill, S.C., beginning at 9 a.m.  Lenoir-Rhyne ends its season with a 6-8 record.
