DANAE VALDERRAMA NAMED TO ALL-SAC WOMEN'S TENNIS FIRST TEAM

 

Danae Valderrama                ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College's Danae Valderrama has been named to the 2007 All-South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis First Team announced league officials Tuesday.

 

                Valderrama, a senior from Orlando, Fla., garners her fourth All-Conference honor during her collegiate career at Tusculum.

 

                Including Tuesday's singles win during Tusculum's 5-4 Food Lion SAC Tournament quarterfinal win over Catawba, Valderrama posted a 15-5 record at the top flight for the Pioneers.  She also accounted for a 6-1 record in SAC singles matches.

 

                Valderrama has been stellar in doubles play as well, posting a 15-5 mark, including 6-1 in SAC matches with doubles partner Samantha Cantu.

 

                Tusculum (15-5) has advanced to play in Saturday's SAC Tournament semifinal beginning at 9 a.m. at TC's Nichols Tennis Complex.  Tusculum will face the winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal match between Newberry and Wingate.
