ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College seniors Vivian Lacy and Alexis Rowles have been named to the Preseason All-South Atlantic Conference Volleyball First Team announced league officials Thursday.

Lacy, a 5-9 outside hitter from Palm Bay, Fla., is coming off a stellar debut campaign with the Pioneers in 2006.  She averaged 5.14 kills per game, including a sizzling 5.00 kpg in conference matches, which was tops in the league.  The 2006 All-SAC First Team selection posted a .305 hitting percentage and was named Tusculum's most valuable player.

Rowles, a 5-6 libero from Simpsonville, S.C., enters her final collegiate campaign with the best digs per game average in school history (4.707 dpg).  Her 1,572 career digs are second all-time at Tusculum, just 76 shy of a new school record.  She garnered All-SAC Second Team honors last year as she finished with 555 digs, the second most in school history.  Rowles posted a school-best 577 digs during the 2005 season.

The Preseason All-SAC Volleyball Team is selected by a vote of the league's eight sports information directors.

Tusculum opens the 2007 campaign next Friday (Aug. 24) as they play in the University of North Alabama Tournament in Florence, Ala.  TC will face No. 9 North Alabama in the first match of the season.
