TUSCULUM, MARTIN METHODIST, ARKANSAS TECH, LMU RUN TABLE IN DAY ONE ACTION OF TUSCULUM FALL VOLLEYBALLCLASSIC

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum, Martin Methodist, Arkansas Tech and Lincoln Memorial University each went 2-0 during day one action of the 2006 Tusculum College Fall Classic. The eight-team, round-robin tournament is being held on the Greeneville campus at Pioneer Arena.

Tusculum (2-1) recorded its first win of 2006 as it rallied from a game down to defeat Montreat 3-1. The Pioneers won by scores of 28-30, 30-28, 31-29, 31-29 and was the first career victory for Tusculum head coach Nathan Baker.

Holli Cadenhead led the Pioneers with 20 kills, while Stacey Ray dished out a match-high 50 assists.

Tusculum followed that win with a 3-0 victory against Eastern Mennonite (30-27, 30-19, 30-16).

Martin Methodist (2-0) was victorious in its first two matches of the 2006 season. MMC won 30-18, 30-21, 30-15 against Eastern Mennonite, led by Sofia Zuluaga's 38 assists and three blocks. In Martin Methodist's 30-13, 30-14, 30-9 triumph over Montreat, Fabiana Lima paced the way with 15 kills and 10 digs.

Arkansas Tech (4-3) tallied a 30-12, 30-10, 30-9 win over Concord as Kayla Allison posted six kills, four digs and 15 assists in the victory. The Golden Suns posted its second three-game win in the night-cap as they defeated Brevard 30-15, 30-21, 30-19.

Lincoln Memorial (6-0) remained undefeated on the season with a pair of three-game wins. LMU got things started with a 30-19, 30-13, 30-23 win over Brevard. Joy Otto accounted for seven kills and four blocks for the Lady Railsplitters.
