TUSCULUM VOLLEYBALL TAKES PAIR AT ANDERSON INVITATIONAL

 

                ANDERSON, S.C. --- The Tusculum College volleyball recorded a pair of wins Saturday at the Regional Crossover Tournament, held this weekend at Anderson University.  Tusculum posted 3-0 wins over Anderson and Augusta State University.

 

                With the wins, Tusculum improves to 13-7 and has won five consecutive matches.

 

                In the first match of the day, Tusculum defeated Anderson 30-26, 30-25, 30-23.  Vivian Lacy tallied 13 kills, while Katie Luebke added 11 kills.  Mariana Rezende dished out 35 assists, while Alexis Rowles finished with 18 digs.  Kelsey Hayden added nine blocks, while Rowles served a pair of aces.

 

                Against Augusta State, Tusculum defeated the Jaguars 30-21, 30-27, 30-26.  Lacy contributed 22 kills to lead the Pioneers.  Luebke added 11 kills and six blocks in the win.  Rezende sparked TC with 43 assists and six blocks, while Rowles made 17 digs on defense.

 

                Tusculum returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Tuesday as the Pioneers travel to Mars Hill College for a 7 p.m. match.
