TUSCULUM'S VIVIAN LACY NAMED AVCA NATIONAL VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE
WEEK
LEXINGTON, Ky.
--- Tusculum
College's Vivian Lacy has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National
Player of the Week announced College officials Monday. Lacy becomes the first player in the program's
history to earn NCAA II national player of the week recognition.
Lacy was also named the South
Atlantic Conference Player of the Week for a second straight time and third in her
Tusculum
career.
The
former River Ridge High School
product recorded a pair of 30+ kill efforts and is the only player in the
nation this season to post 30 or more kills in four matches. Her 33 kills in a
five-game win over Catawba tied a Tusculum
five-game record. She posted 30 kills in a win over Newberry and had 18 kills,
11 digs and nine blocks in a win over Mars Hill.
Lacy
totaled 81 kills over the three matches, averaging of 5.8 per game while posting
a .379 hitting percentage. The Palm Bay, Fla.
senior added 2.8 digs and 1.1 blocks per game. Lacy had double-doubles in kills
and digs in all three matches.
Tusculum (16-7, 5-1 SAC) is riding an eight-match
winning streak and has been victorious in 12 of its last 13 outings. TC's 5-1 league
start is its best since joining the SAC in 1998.
