TUSCULUM VOLLEYBALL LEADS NATION IN BLOCKING

 

                INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College volleyball team leads the nation in blocking according to this week's NCAA Division II national statistics announced College official Wednesday.

 

                The Pioneers (16-7, 5-1 in South Atlantic Conference) are averaging 3.49 blocks per game.  Tusculum is also listed ninth in team hitting percentage (.268).

 

                Senior outside hitter Vivian Lacy (Palm Bay, Fla.) is eighth in the country in kills per game, posting 4.93.  She averaged almost six kills per game last week as she led Tusculum to three conference wins.  She was named both the SAC and AVCA Division II National Player of the Week.

 

                Junior Heather MacArthur (Salt Lake City, Utah) is 21st in the country in blocking, averaging 1.33 blocks per game.

 

                Following Wednesday's road match at Lincoln Memorial University, Tusculum returns to action on Friday night when it hosts Lenoir-Rhyne College for a 7 p.m. match at Pioneer Arena.
