TUSCULUM VOLLEYBALL LISTED IN NCAA STATISTICS
INDIANAPOLIS --- For a
second straight week, the Tusculum
College volleyball team
leads the nation in blocking according to the latest installment of the NCAA
Division II statistics.
The Pioneers (19-7, 7-1 in South
Atlantic Conference) are averaging 3.41 blocks per game. Tusculum
is also ninth in team hitting percentage (.269) and 47th in match
won-lost percentage (.731).
Individually, senior outside
hitter Vivian Lacy (Palm Bay, Fla.)
is ninth in the country averaging 4.86 kills per game. Senior setter Mariana Rezende (Belo Horizonte,
Brazil) is 50th in NCAA II in assists per game (11.39 apg), while junior Heather
MacArthur (Salt Lake City, Utah) is 35th
in blocking (1.23 bpg).
The Pioneers are back in action
Friday when they host SAC front-runner Wingate University
(21-1, 7-0 SAC) for a 7 p.m. match. Tusculum has won their
last 11 matches, while Wingate is riding a 12-match winning streak. The last team to defeat TC was Wingate in a
five-game thriller last month.
