TUSCULUM VOLLEYBALL WINS 3-1 AT CARSON-NEWMAN

 

                JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. --- Freshman Katie Luebke recorded 22 kills and a .436 hitting percentage to lead the Tusculum College volleyball team to a 3-1 South Atlantic Conference win over host Carson-Newman College Tuesday night at Holt Fieldhouse. 

 

Tusculum (20-8, 8-2 SAC) completes the season sweep of the Lady Eagles (17-7, 2-7 SAC), winning the match by scores of 30-26, 32-34, 30-23, 30-27.

 

                Vivian Lacy (19) and Kelsey Hayden (17) recorded double-digit kills for the Pioneers, while Mariana Rezende added seven kills and a match-high 58 assists.  Alexis Rowles finished with 16 digs, while Lacy added 11 to complete her double-double.

 

                The Lady Eagles were led by Kelli Sorensen and Kelsey Fleck, who posted 13 kills each, while Carly Mozgai finished with a dozen kills and 12 digs.

 

                Tusculum returns to action next Tuesday when the Pioneers host Mars Hill College for a 7 p.m. match.  TC has clinched its second straight winning season, while posting back-to-back 20-win campaigns for the first time since 2000 (24-13) and 2001 (21-15).
