TUSCULUM VOLLEYBALL TOPS NATION IN BLOCKING

 

                INDIANAPOLIS --- For a third straight week, the Tusculum College volleyball team leads the nation in team blocking according to the latest installment of the NCAA Division II national statistics announced College officials.

 

                The Pioneers (21-8, 9-2 in South Atlantic Conference) were averaging 3.25 blocks per game entering this week's action.  Tusculum was also 10th in the country in team hitting percentage, posting a .267 average.

 

                Leading the blocking charge for Tusculum is junior middle blocker Kelsey Hayden (Colorado Springs, Colo.), who is second in the land averaging 1.61 blocks per game.  Senior outside hitter Vivian Lacy (Palm Bay, Fla.) is eighth in the country in kills per game, posting 4.8.

 

                Tusculum returns to action this Friday night as the Pioneers travel to Newberry College for a 7 p.m. match.
