TUSCULUM BEATS WINGATE 3-2 IN SAC VOLLEYBALL MARATHON

 

                GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum’s Vivian Lacy recorded 28 kills and 33 digs as the defeated Wingate 3-2 in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action at Pioneer Arena Saturday afternoon.  The Pioneers (21-9, 9-5 SAC) won the match by scores of 27-30, 30-24, 30-27, 27-30, 15-7.

 

                Wingate falls to 22-7 overall and 12-2 in the South Atlantic Conference.  The Bulldogs end the league season sharing the league title with Lenoir-Rhyne.  L-R posted a 3-1 road win at Presbyterian to claim a share of the SAC title with Wingate.

 

                Stacey Ray dished out 57 assists for Tusculum, while Heather MacArthur added three blocks in the victory.

 

                Wingate’s Rebecca Brezovec accounted for 20 kills, while Brittany Horner added 20 digs in the loss.  Melissa Deluca tallied 55 assists, while Molly Kerns recorded eight blocks for the Bulldogs.

 

                Tusculum will host North Greenville on Monday for a 5 p.m. match at Pioneer Arena.  The Bulldogs are idle until next weekend’s Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament in Wingate, N.C.
