TUSCULUM VOLLEYBALL SIGNS KATIE LUEBKE

 

                GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Katie Luebke has signed a national letter of intent to attend Tusculum College and play volleyball for the Pioneers announced TC head coach Nathan Baker.

 

                Luebke, a 6-1 outside hitter from Bellefontaine, Ohio, played her prep career at Bellefontaine High School for Coach Shannon Hodge.  Luebke led her team in kills and block in her final campaign at BHS.  She was an All-District First Team selection and led her team to a District Championship.

 

                "Only once in a while do you find a player like Katie," said Baker.  "She is tall, strong, athletic and such a joy to be around.  Katie should make a huge impact with our team next season.  I'm looking forward to coaching her for the next four years."

 

                This past season, she was name District 9 Division II Player of the Year and was a Second Team All-Ohio selection.  She was a three time First Team CBC honoree and garnered All-State accolades twice.

 

                Tusculum posted a 23-10 record in 2006 and finished fourth in the South Atlantic Conference.

 

                Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of nine colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
