CAROLINE WINSTEL INKS WITH PIONEER VOLLEYBALL

 

                GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Caroline Winstel has signed a national letter of intent to attend Tusculum College and play volleyball for the Pioneers announced TC head coach Nathan Baker.

 

                Winstel, a 5-8 right side hitter from Knoxville, Tenn., was coached by Jen Allen at Bearden High School.  She led the Bulldogs in kills (3.2 kpg) and was second on the team in assists and third in service aces.  She is listed in the top in every statistical category.

 

                "Caroline will be a welcome addition to our team," said Baker.  "She is very athletic and should be fighting for playing time as a freshman and she will add some much needed depth to our squad."

 

                Winstel earned team most valuable player honors and was named Most Outstanding Hitter while gaining All-District distinction in 2006.

 

                Tusculum posted a 23-10 record in 2006 and finished fourth in the South Atlantic Conference.

 

                Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of nine colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
