PEYTON
COLCLOUGH SIGNS WITH
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Peyton
Colclough has signed a national letter of intent
to attend Tusculum College and play volleyball for the Pioneers announced TC
head coach Nathan Baker.
Colclough
(pronounced - Coal-Claw), a 5-10 setter hitter from Manassas, Va., comes to
Tusculum following a stellar prep career at Forest Park High School where she
was coached by Dan Jones. Colclough led
Forest Park to an impressive 81-18 record in her four seasons as the team
captured four Cardinal District championships (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) and two
Northwest Region titles (2006, 2007).
"Peyton has all the tools
to be a phenomenal setter in the South Atlantic Conference," said Baker. "She's a very strong player that has the
will to win at any cost. We're very fortunate to have a player of
Peyton’s caliber on our squad.”
Her last two prep teams advanced
to the Virginia AAA State Quarterfinals, including the 2006 squad that advanced
to the State semifinals, while posting a 22-5 record. This year's squad went 22-4 while she earned
All-Cardinal District First Team recognition. In 2006, she was named to the Potomac News All-Area First Team squad
while earning the VHSL Award of Excellence.
In 2005, she was also named to the All-District Second Team.
She has eight years of club
volleyball experience, including the last three playing for the Ichiban Samurai
18s. The 2007 squad was the top-ranked
team in
Off the court, Colclough is a member of the National Honor Society and is
a three-time VHSL Scholar Athlete (2004-07).
She is an Award of Merit recipient at the Prince William County Art
Exhibit and was the 2004-05 recipient Presidents Award
for Educational Excellence.
