Meet the CCA Staff!

Joyce Doughty

Joyce Doughty
Interim Director of the the CCA

A graduate of Chatham College in her native Pittsburgh, PA, Joyce also holds a Master's Degree in Adult Education from Tusculum. Her background includes extensive experience in communications, public relations, and community relations.

After moving to Tennessee, she joined the staff of the Appalachian Girl Scout Council as a professional worker and Director of Public Relations. Following that, she served in the administration of Tusculum College in several capacities, including Director of Public Relations, before leaving to follow other pursuits. These included working at Plus Mark, the local subsidiary of American Greetings Corporation, as director of corporate communications, and with the Greene County Partnership as Manager of Community Planning and Development. She serves on the boards of several local non-profit agencies working to improve conditions for those in need.

Robin is currently Assistant Professor of Social Science, teaches Service-Learning courses through the CCA, and directs the Bonner Leader Program. She obtained her Master's Degree in Adult Education here at TC through the Professional Studies Program. In support of the center's mission, Robin is on the board or very involved with several local non-profit organizations working to build collaborative, long-term partnerships which address local issues such as hunger, homelessness, poverty, education, health, diversity, environment and sustainable agriculture. She is the instructor of a variety of community-based courses on campus, ranging from immersion experiences in Belize, Central America, to community-based research for the local Homeless Coalition, to mentoring programs in area schools.
