Anne Reever joined the faculty of Tusculum College in May 2002 as Assistant Library Director for Distance Learning. Her responsibilities include the provision of library resources and services to students and faculty in the Graduate and Professional Studies Program as well as managing and maintaining the electronic resources and website for the Tusculum College Library. She travels regularly to GPS off campus centers to provide face to face library instruction and research assistance to students.
Ms. Reever earned her Master of Arts degree from the University of Iowa in Library and Information Science with a concentration in College and University Libraries and has over 15 years experience in libraries and information centers. Her interests in her field began early on when as a teenager she worked in the local public library as a library page. She is a member of the American Library Association, Association of College and Research Libraries, and the Music Library Association. She has been an active participant of the Appalachian College Association's Central Library and served on the Collection Development and Resource Sharing Committee. She is very interested in the areas of information literacy and encouraging the development of this set of skills to adult, non-traditional and distance learning populations. She is also interested in the impact of technology and the internet on the learning styles of adult learners.
Before coming to Tusculum College, Ms Reever served as Public Services Librarian at Dyersburg State Community College and assisted in developing, with English Professor Andrea Franckowiak, an online library tutorial for use in the TBR Online Degree Program. She also developed and launched the library website for Dyersburg State.
An active member of First Presbyterian Church, Greeneville, Ms. Reever has served as Moderator of Presbyterian Women, sings in the adult church choir, plays in the adult hand bell choir, and participates in youth group activities as an advisor. She also has been seen honing her singing and acting skills in local community theater productions at Tusculum College, Greeneville Little Theatre and Morristown Theatre Guild. Other hobbies include: singing, reading, playing the piano, collecting Wizard of Oz memorabilia, traveling overseas, time with family and relaxing with her cat.
