Presentation
on a God or Goddess: Choose a
major God or Goddess and design a class presentation
using power point or web pages. The presentation should incorporate and analyze information
about the god/goddess, including significant mythic stories, and
theorize connections and purposes of these myths. The
presentation should incorporate
art images (paintings, temples, coins or vases) and ancient
literature. Use
6-10 references. Suggested sources:
our textbook, the Perseus
Project online and other web sites, books on reserve, the Webmuseum,
our coursepaks, Ovid's Metamorphoses,
Homeric Hymns. Your report should
include: an
introduction, slides + notes or web pages (with written material
equaling 4 pages) and a separate bibliography in MLA
style. The
tone and complexity of your
report should reflect that of a junior level course. In other
words, make connections between
theories, critical texts, and primary materials. Provide analysis
of these connections.
Discuss your subject from various points of view.
