Dr. Melanie Goodson Narkawicz is an Associate Professor of Research teaching in Graduate and Professional Studies at Tusculum College. In 1994 she received her doctorate (from East Tennessee State University) in post-secondary and private sector supervision and administration with a focus on research and statistics, marketing, and computer applications. Her dissertation focused on college marketing.
Dr. Narkawicz worked as a teaching and research fellow at East Tennessee State University from 1989 until 1994 when she came to Tusculum College. Previously she worked in planning and development at Northeast State Community College, in testing and measurement in the marine department of Underwriter's Laboratories, Inc., and in the U.S. Army conducting research and development.
Dr. Narkawicz teaches research and statistics courses in the undergraduate management and graduate education programs of Graduate and Professional Studies. She also serves as Director of Research for Graduate and Professional Studies and on the Research Institutional Review Board. Serving as a consultant in the areas of research design and statistical analysis on numerous business and education projects is also an interest. Other scholarship interests focus on marketing, instructional technology, as well as research and statistics.
Dr. Narkawicz is a member of Tusculum Baptist Church where she is active in the missions program. She is married to Tony Narkawicz, Director of Institutional Research at Tusculum College. They have a son, Anthony, who after studying mathematics at Tusculum College for two years, received bachelor and doctorate degrees in mathematics from Virginia Tech and Duke, respectively. Anthony, who is now employed at NASA, frequently visits Tennessee with his wife Ashley and their children.
