ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE

DESCRIPTION:
Tusculum College is seeking a dynamic leader to initiate a new Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice program. The Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice shall coordinate the development of the program, and represent such work internally and externally. The Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice shall be responsible for promoting the mission and strategic priorities of Tusculum College; finalizing the Criminal Justice curriculum to meet all requi rements of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC); securing faculty approval of the Criminal Justice curriculum; teaching core content and other courses as assigned; participating on College c ommittees; supervising the annual assessment plan; preparing all internal and external reports; monitoring program enrollments relative to projected class sizes; ensuring effective student advising; directing annual budget processes; a nd performing other duties as assigned.

While Tusculum College has submitted a letter of substantive change to SACSCOC to receive approval for the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice degree, it is anticipated that the first class of freshmen will begin the program in the fall of 2012. The starting date for the position is flexible while the review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Preferred qualifications are an earned doctorate degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field, from an accredited institution, and demonstrated excellence in teaching with experience in academic administration. Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Criminal Justice or Criminology from an accredited college or university and previous full-time teaching experience.

ASSISTANT BOOKSTORE MANAGER

DESCRIPTION:
The Tusculum College Bookstore is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Bookstore Manager. Position will be salary and will include evening and weekend availability. Duties to include merchandising, website maintenance, social networking & communications, display set-up and maintenance, pricing, shipping and receiving, record keeping, sales and customer service, and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
The position requires a minimum of 1-year College with an emphasis on business, 2-3 years experience in retail or office, or a combination of education, training, or experience that meets the needs of the College. Ideal candidate must possess, excellent written and oral communication skills, organization and customer service skills, bookkeeping abilities, above average computer skills, including MS Office, and website experience preferred. Candidate should possess outgoing personality, team-building skills and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with deadline pressures. Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

HEAD CHEERLEADING COACH

DESCRIPTION:
Tusculum College is seeking applications for a Head Cheerleading Coach. This is a part-time position with flexible hours and does not include benefits. The Cheerleading Coach reports to the Athletic Director and works with student athletes. Responsibilities of this position will include recruitment of student-athletes; provide supervision during school-sanctioned events such as practice, home athletic events, away athletic events, securing travel arrangements and other events as assigned.

The successful candidate must provide outstanding service in a fast-paced team environment, and previous coaching experience is preferred. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.

ASSISTANT MEN'S SOCCER COACH

DESCRIPTION:
Tusculum College Athletic Department is seeking applicants for an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach. Tusculum College is a member of NCAA Division II and South Atlantic Conference. The ideal candidate will have assistant coaching experience preferably at an NCAA institution and will report directly to the head soccer coach. This position will perform instruction of soccer related skills and strategies to student-athletes while assisting with the coordination of the recruiting process

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's or Master's Degree is preferred with three to five years of collegiate coaching experience. Candidate must be mobile, able to stand, work on feet, communicate verbally, and lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to manage daily office operations in the areas of recruiting, travel, skill instruction, camps/clinics, film exchange, and perform other duties as assigned by the head coach, which includes, but is not limited to the following;

  • Assist head coach with practice activities
  • Assist head coach with competition and game-day related activities and duties
  • Coordinate practice log process
  • Fulfill recruiting needs identified by head coach
  • Serve as liaison to visiting team
  • Coordinate NCAA Clearinghouse process for incoming freshmen
  • Supervise upkeep of soccer locker room
  • Supervise work study students

The Department of Physical Education is seeking applicants for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Physical Education. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PSYCHOLOGY

DESCRIPTION:
The Psychology Program at Tusculum College is seeking a broadly trained generalist to teach in the General-Experimental and Behavior Health concentrations. The primary responsibility of the new Assistant Professor will be to teach a wide variety of courses, including Behavioral Pharmacology, to traditional (day) and non-traditional (evening) students.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
This position requires travel to any of four sites in Northeast Tennessee. Development of a program of research, which can involve undergraduate students, is also expected. While area of specialization is open, candidates who complement existing faculty specializations in Social, Biopsychology, Counseling, and Educational will receive preference. Individuals with graduate coursework in Health Psychology are especially encouraged to apply. Terminally degreed candidates are preferred.

Tusculum College is seeking applicants for a part time (20-29 hours per week) Mechanic for Facilities Management at the Greeneville Site. This position will have primary responsibilities for maintaining the vehicle fleet and equipment. A flexible work schedule is available for weekdays between the hours of 6:30am to 3:00pm. Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively. A minimum of five years experience in auto repair and general maintenance is required. Auto body experience a plus.

GRADUATE & PROFESSIONAL STUDIES ADJUNCT FACULTY

DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS
The Graduate and Professional Studies program of Tusculum College seeks qualified adjunct faculty for the following teaching positions listed below. GPS offers non-traditional, accelerated, adult-oriented classes. Most classes meet once a week for six weeks and are offered in the evening or on the weekends in upper East Tennessee. Prior experience with adult students is preferred as well as experience teaching web-enhanced courses using an on-line course delivery system.

Master of Arts in Education Program Organizational Training and Education and Human Resource Development Concentrations Terminal degree with demonstrated professional accomplishments in the instructional systems design (ISD) functions are required. Teach six week courses in Analysis of Instructional Needs and Performance Gap Analysis, Instructional Design, Evaluation of Adult Learning, Instructional Materials and Media.

Master of Arts in Education Programs Curriculum and Instruction and MAT - Terminal degree and at least 18 graduate hours in Education, Special Education, Reading, English, Science, Math or Art and experience in an Elementary or Secondary Education classroom.
