Welcome to the Tusculum College Department of Information Systems

The mission of the Tusculum College Department of Information Systems (TCDIS) is to provide reliable and effective communications services to the campus community by researching, installing, and maintaining various technologies appropriate for the campus community to include Voice, Data, and Cable TV.

Tusculum College currently has a viable phone, data and cable TV network meeting existing needs of the students, faculty and staff. However, when possible, leading (not bleeding) edge technology has been proposed, with a view to positioning the College to meet future challenges. In this respect the proposed system addresses more than the needs defined for this project in its formal functional requirements.

Consideration of the immediate and near future needs has resulted in a design that provides a seamless interface for computer networks, the phone system and videoconferencing between campuses and the integration of the three major communication formats (voice, data, video).
