Children's Story Hours
November 2011, February 2012
Bonner Leaders and Garland Library Staff enjoyed sharing stories, making crafts and eating yummy treats at the 2011-12 story hours for children and grandchildren of Tusculum students, faculty and staff. Click on thumbnails to see larger photo.
We would especially like to thank Mara Rutherford for her wonderful assistance with the story hour since its inception three years ago.
She has been instrumental in the success of the program. We will miss her greatly next year. Good luck Mara from all your friends in the library!
On Tuesday, February 21, the Garland Library staff and student volunteers, Mara Rutherford and Shealy Bigach, , hosted the spring children’s story hour in the library. Seven children, their parents, grandparents and aunts enjoyed reading the book “Snow” by Uri Shulevitz. The children had a blast decorating snowman cupcakes and making snowman crafts. The librarians especially liked watching the kids excitedly pick out books to check out.
The next story hour will take place in the fall semester; Mrs. Hipps and Ms. Parker are already talking about how to make the event bigger and better than this one.
