Saturday Afternoon in Front of the INTRODUCTION
A number of valuable sites for those seekinglocal or regional resources. We have gathered some of these here and have arranged them into two major categories: Databases and Websites: A Classified Library.
For books and other materials (print and electronic) in the Library collection, be sure to check our catalog.
ABI INFORM GLOBAL/HOOVERS, part of a collection from Proquest and a premier source of business information for over 30 years, provides full-text and full image information from thousands of periodicals and other sources. The noted Hoover's Handbooks are accessed via this database through a system known as "IntelliDocs." These sources are a key resource for anyone interested in the economic base of the Tusculum College service area. BIOGRAPHY RESOURCE CENTER + THE COMPLETE MARQUIS WHO'S WHO, via Infotrac II, includes full-text articles from hundreds of periodicals as well as the text of various biographical sources, including current and past issues of the Marquis Who's Who publications. A helpful resource for those seeking information on citizens of our area. CUSTOM NEWSPAPERS, from Gale Corp. via Infotrac II, provides full-text articles from 40+ U.S. newspapers, including several from this area. An important and easy way to keep up with regional affairs. TENNESSEE ENCYCLOPEDIA holds a wealth of information on the Volunteer State, including history, biography, stats; an exact copy of the print edition.

Local Public Schools (Selected) The following school systems and many others across Tennessee have their own web sites; indeed, there are web sites for hundreds of individual public schools, which are easily accessible via the Tennessee Education Directory. Once you have clicked on this underlined link, you will be taken to a page which allows you to search for your district and/or school using drop down menus at the top. Did you know that three high schools and eight elementary schools in Greene County have their own individual web pages? Here they are:
Greeneville City Schools A number of local hospitals, particularly those in larger cities, have web pages and are listed with clickable links in a directory of hospitals in Tennessee. Many others also have W3 presence and are noted, with their non-clickable links, in the directory of the Tennessee Hospital Association.
