GROUP STUDY ROOM POLICY
Tusculum College Thomas J. Garland Library
Introduction:
Five group study rooms are located on the upper floor of the Tusculum College Library currently available for college-related use by students, faculty and staff.
Non-reservation use:
When not otherwise reserved, group study rooms may be employed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Reservation procedure:
To ensure availability of rooms at desired times, an opportunity exists to reserve a group study room employing a convenient, but mandatory form available online on the Library’s website under “Request Forms.” Rooms may be reserved for one use at a time. The room designated for faculty/staff use may not be reserved for usage by students prior to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
When submitting a request, please do so at least 36-48 hours in advance of the date and time needed. Please provide all information requested on the form. If a room is not available, we will contact you via phone or email to request an alternative time. Should you have any questions, please call the library circulation desk at 636-7320 or extension 5320.
Forfeiture of Reservation:
Groups not arriving within 10-15 minutes of their requested reserve time and who have not contacted the library to make changes or cancel their reservation, will automatically forfeit their reservation and the room will be open to any others requesting its use.
Study room access procedure:
Study rooms are kept locked at all times when not in use. For initial room access, a requesting patron must check out the key to the designated study room in the same manner as checking out a book and return the key to the circulation when finished or at library closing. Keys are bar coded and signed out employing Tusculum College ID cards that will be returned to the patron when the study room key is returned. Those to whom keys are charged are responsible for their return and for leaving the study room in good order with door closed and securely locked.
Updating:
This policy will be reviewed at the end of each semester and viable recommendations for changes or enhancements will be incorporated.
