The 'Pioneer Perk' Coffee House Now Open In Commons

GREENEVILLE, TN -- The Pioneer Perk, a coffee house located in the Niswonger Commons, has been opened.

The Pioneer Perk is oriented toward Tusculum students but also open to the public, and has initial hours of 8 to 9 a.m. during weekdays and 8 to 11 p.m. each night. The coffee house will not operate during block breaks.

Various flavors of coffee and cappucino will be served, along with "heat and eat" pastries, microwave pizzas, corndogs, and many other snacks. The coffee house space was carved out of a portion of the Tusculum game room, which continues to operate adjacent to Pioneer Perk.

The Jan. 12 grand opening featured live music by the Laura Blackley Band out of Asheville, N.C. Other performers will be featured in the coffee house in the future, along with activity options such as karaoke and open microphone nights.
