College recognizes long-term employees at Convocation
Charles H. Tunstall and R. Stephen Weisz were recognized Aug. 22 for their 20 years of service at Tusculum College. Faculty and staff with 20, 15, and 10 years of service were honored during the Opening Convocation marking beginning of the college's 208th year.
The annual event was held in the Annie Hogan Byrd Fine Arts Building auditorium. Tunstall and Weisz were presented plaques by Tusculum President Dr. Dolphus E. Henry. Tunstall is instructional/reference at the Tate Library and assistant professor of library science. Weisz is the campus minister and associate professor of religious studies.
Recognized for 15 years of service were Richard E. Eddy and Nancy J. Thompson. Eddy is an assistant professor of accounting. Thompson is the registrar at the college.
Six staff members were recognized for 10 years of service at Tusculum: Marilyn duBrisk, Melinda Dukes, Sharon Elkins, Jean Hixon, Jerry Kidd, and Don Stout. These faculty members represent a cross-section of the campus community. duBrisk is artist in residence, Dukes is professor of psychology, Elkins is associate vice president for finance, Hixon is executive administrator and associate registrar for the Professional Studies program, Kidd is associate vice president for Professional Studies - Tennessee, and Stout is associate vice president for Professional Studies - Northeast Tennessee.
Both the 15- and 10-year honorees were presented framed certificates Dr. Henry.
