Tusculum student artwork displayed
The results of a year's worth of efforts by students in art classes at Tusculum College were celebrated on April 26 with a reception for the artists participating in the 35th annual Tusculum College Student Art Exhibition. Pencil drawings, litho prints, photographs, pastel drawings, ink compositions and some experimental mixed-media pieces were among the art forms displayed in the exhibit at the Allison Gallery in the Annie Hogan Byrd Fine Arts Building. Bree Rosen, left in inset, a visual arts major, had the unenviable task of choosing the works displayed from students' final portfolios from the individual classes. Rosen, of Huntsville, Al., said it was very difficult to chose the artwork, which received much praise for creativity and skill from those who visited the display. Rosen was assisted in labeling and mounting the works by fellow student Sarah Creutzinger of Greeneville, right in inset. Those attending the reception also had the opportunity to attend a poetry reading the same evening by Elizabeth Gordon and Zachary Jack, English professors at Tusculum. (Tusculum College photos)
