Doak House Museum to host summer enrichment camp
How did children in the 19th century have fun?
Activities that 19th century children found enjoyable will be the focus of "Summer Sampler: 19th Century Style," an enrichment camp hosted by the Doak House Museum on the Tusculum College campus.
The camp for youngsters ages 6-12 is scheduled from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, through Friday, July 19.
Each day participants will spend time working on challenging projects related to the 19th century, including photography, silhouettes, clay projects, and nature activities. Participants will also play games, hear stories, and learn amazing facts related to the 19th century as well as become familiar with toys from that time period.
Children enrolled in the camp are asked to bring a brown bag lunch with a drink and wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
The cost per session is $75 per child, which includes all instruction, activity supplies, and snacks. Enrollment is limited, and the deadline for registration is Monday, July 8. To make reservations or for more information, call the Doak House at 636-8554.
