Tusculum College hosts 'red wagon' during August

The Tusculum College community is taking its turn to "pull its weight" by donating items to Holston United Methodist Home for Children through the Greeneville-Greene County's Promise Program.

A red wagon, the symbol for both the local and national America's Promise program, has been placed in the Niswonger Commons on campus to receive donated items. Donations by those in the community at-large as well as from those on campus will be accepted through the end of this month at the college.

This the second month for the new effort, which involves placing the wagon at a location in the community each month to receive donations for a local service agency or organization. Tusculum is a "College of Promise" in the America's Promise program.

Holston Home's wish list for the collection includes school supplies, push or riding toys for toddlers, buckets, hula hoops, yo-yos, jump ropes, and baseballs, softballs, soccer balls. etc. Gift certificates for video rentals, videos, books, cassettes, items from Christian book stores, trips to the movies, restaurants, and entertainment events are also on the wish list.
