Free community-wide concert by Trent Summar and the New Row Mob to be held at Tusculum Saturday evening

A free concert for the entire community will be presented Saturday evening at Tusculum College in the "bowl" area of the campus.

Trent Summar and the New Row Mob will perform their hard-driving style of country-rock in the outdoor setting from 8 to 11 p.m.

The concert is a family-styled event and Tusculum College is urging everyone to bring their own lawn chairs and attend the free event. The concert is occurring the same weekend as Tusculum College's Homecoming 2002 celebration, noted Parke McInturff, director of development at Tusculum College and organizer of the concert.

"We hope that the entire community will come out and join Tusculum's alumni, faculty, staff and students in enjoying a great evening of high-quality, high-energy music," McInturff said. "This is an exciting opportunity for a truly enjoyable evening of entertainment for people of all ages right here in Greene County. It's going to be a fantastic show and we hope to have a crowd that will entirely fill the bowl area of the campus."

The "bowl" refers to a recessed, grassy lawn area between the Tate Library, the "Old College" building, Welty-Craig Hall, and McCormick Hall.

Trent Summar, a former Greenevillian who graduated from Greeneville High School in 1984, is a rising star in the music business. His performances are characterized by the rock edge he and his band give to Summar's own original music and country standards. Summar and the New Row Mob recently performed a well-received concert in downtown Greeneville in celebration of Independence Day.
