Tusculum College's Greeneville Alumni Chapter, Service Leader Scholars host Christmas party for Backyard Learning Center students
A Christmas party for children from Tusculum View Elementary School's two Backyard Learning Centers was held Dec. 10 on the Tusculum College campus. The event was hosted by the Greeneville Alumni Chapter in conjunction with the college's Service Leader Scholar students. About 20 children received a gift from Santa Claus and educational materials provided by Tusculum's Service-Learning Center. The students from the Backyard Learning Centers, which serve children living in Greeneville Terrace Apartments and Executive Manor, created Christmas cards, made other holiday crafts, and played games with the help of the Service Leader Scholars. The Service Learning Center also donated materials for use at the Backyard Learning Centers, and members of the Alumni Chapter provided the gifts for the children. This is the first of many planned activities for the Greeneville Alumni Chapter. Anyone interested in becoming a member should contact Carolynn Kinser, president of the Greeneville Alumni Chapter, at kinserc@peoplepc.com or Sean Bride, director of Alumni Relations, at sbride@tusculum.edu or 636-7331.
