Tusculum College Community Chorus and YMCA Band to present Christmas concert Dec. 9

The Tusculum College Community Chorus and the Greeneville YMCA Community Concert Band will present a joint Christmas Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9 in the Annie Hogan Byrd Fine Arts Center on the Tusculum College campus.

The chorus is conducted by David Hendricksen and accompanied by Susan McNabb. The band is conducted by Mike May.

There is no admission charge for the concert.

The program includes a variety of music for the season, including the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's Messiah.

"There is so much wonderful music written for the Christmas season. Each year we try to bring folks some familiar tunes and also present some of the charming, but less familiar carols from countries around the world," said Hendricksen.

The band and the chorus will also include music of master composers such as J. S. Bach, Gustav Holst, and Ralph Vaughan Williams.
