Luther King's ideals explored during symposium at Tusculum College
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. "Injustice anywhere is
a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable
network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever
affects one directly, affects all indirectly." Dr. Martin Luther
King wrote these words almost 30 years ago in a letter to clergymen
in Birmingham, Al., to explain his reasons for coming to the city
to participate in non-violent civil disobedience activities that
had resulted in his imprisonment in the jail there. [01/21/03]
