Doak House Museum hosts 'Tea & Treats'

Cynthia Feltner Lancaster, standing at right, describes Victorian dining customs during "Tea and Treats" Friday at the Doak House Museum on the Tusculum College campus. Lancaster, a historic design consultant specializing in interpreting 19th century dining, guided guests through the "taking of tea," describing the dining table arrangement for an 1850s-era afternoon tea. Guests enjoyed a menu of treats popular in the 1850s. The Doak House Museum is part of Tusculum's Department of Museum Program and Studies and hosted more than 7,000 school children last year for a variety of educational programs related to the 19th century.
